That’s me with John Wyer’s Gulf Mirage powered by a Ford Cosworth DFV at the 1972 6 Hours of Watkins Glen, where I co-drove with the Dutchman Gijs van Lennep.

In June of 1972, Tony traveled to Austria to practice in the Gulf Research Mirage M6 Ford at the Österreichring near the Austrian city of Zeltweg.  Derek Bell and Gijs van Lennep placed the car first on the grid for the June 25 Zeltweg 1000 km, round 10 of the World Championship for Makes.  Unfortunately, the car did not finish the race (ignition issues).
